Jan 30, 2026 7:30 AM - 12:00 PM
Following the in-court observation and presentation, Rotarian Kathleen Walford will take us on a guided historical walking tour of the Federal Judicial Center which encompasses three buildings on the downtown campus. Because we will be observing an actual criminal calendar, we will need to gather down-town at the corner of Front St and Broadway by 8:30 a.m. to get through the screening process. Because most people don’t like to drive downtown ,and parking is always a challenge, we will travel by trolley from the El Cajon Station located at 325 South Marshal St, on the ORANGE LINE leaving at 7:33 a.m |

Donation item information can be found here https://projectmercybaja.org/suggested-donations-for-families/ and Karen will be coordinating the items so we don't get too many of the same things. We are doing this House building project with the La Mesa Rotary Club and the Mt. Miguel HS Interact Club. We will meet on the US side of the border at approx. 6am and be home by 6pm.

![]() Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive
Help us collect the USPS food donations that arrive during the day's collection route for all Santee USPS trucks as they arrive back at the Santee USPS site. We will also help support the Santee Food Bank with organizing the donated supplies brought to them from the post office. Rotarians will unload the USPS trucks and put them in large bins that we then transport and unload at the Santee Food Bank, so all the donations stay in our community. The donations at the Santee Food Bank on Halberns/Mast Blvd in Santee are then sorted - they have volunteers but always need our help as well.
3:30-5:30 for Post Office volunteers
5:00 to 7:00 for Food Bank volunteers
We also encourage you, and for you to encourage others, to put your donations of non-expired cans and boxes of food out for your USPS driver.
Contact Sandy Pugliese at sandyp304@gmail.com or 619 813-8922 to volunteer and for more information.

May 16, 2026 8:30 AM - 12:00 PM
![]() For our SLRC's first Epic Day of Service on May 16, we are pairing up with the El Cajon Rotary Club, La Mesa Noon Rotary Club and the La Mesa Sunrise Rotary Club to purchase and assemble "Little Libraries" for each of our communities.
The four libraries for our club will go to two schools in Santee schools and two in Lakeside schools. Each of the clubs will be building and painting their kits to be installed at a later date. The location of this effort will be the First United Methodist Church in La Mesa, right next to Sprouts. There is a parking lot at the church (we will be in a shaded patio working). There are open street and metered parking available.
We will also be having a potluck fellowship between paint dry times and when we put the libraries together. We are hoping that all of our Rotarians will show up to help and, at the very least, enjoy the fellowship between the clubs.
It is our hope that we will have press at the event. Please make sure to wear your Rotarians at Work Day shirts!
Additionally, we will be collecting BOOKS for these libraries. Contact Sandy Pugliese at sandyp304@gmail.com or 619 813-8922 if you would like to be involved!
